How to install the Portal Modules in phpBB3
Step 1
Go to your ACP, SYSTEM, MODULE MANAGEMENT
First we will create a new module category called Portal....
The two images above detail the steps required to create the main Portal Module.... The image below show the default modules plus our newly created Portal modules...
Step 2
Having created the main Portal Module (category) we now proceed to create additional modules (sub-categories) in the main Portal Module called: Portal (or Config if you prefer), Blocks, Menus, Reports
Simply repeat the steps in Step 1 i.e. Go to: ACP, SYSTEM, MODULE MANAGEMENT, Portal
Create additional modules for: Portal, Blocks, Menus, Reports.... inside the main portal module...
Step 3
In the preceding steps we created our main Module called Portal and inside this module we created four additional modules called Blocks, Menus, Reports and another one called Portal... All of these we modules of type 'Category'. In this section we now fill in the details by adding additional modules but this time all modules are of type 'Module'...
Essentially we repeat the steps above with a few slight variations....
To begin we will set up the main portal config (Portal Version, Block Width, Enable Block etc...). You should have the following...
Go to your ACP, SYSTEM, MODULE MANAGEMENT, Portal, Portal
From here on everything is now added by selecting it from a drop down list see image...
Press the Add Module Button...
This is our first module that actually does some work but we need to enable it and make sure it's visible...
Click on the edit icon (the green rear icon on right) and set 'Module enabled' and 'Module displayed'...
Now repeat for 'Portal Configure', 'Configure Welcome Message' and 'Configure other Portal variables'
Now we have finished the Portal modules setup we move on to Blocks, Menus and Reports. As the procedure is identical I will not go into detail see images for reference...
Navigate to: ACP, SYSTEM, MODULE MANAGEMENT ... and ... ACP -> Portal -> Blocks
Add (from dropdown box) all modules below... Set each in turn to as indicated using the edit icon...
Repeat for Menus and Reports... Setting as indicated in the next two images...
Step 4
Refresh everything....
You should end up with the following...
This is a quick guide to setting up the modules and before anyone rants I know it's not as complete as it could be.... perhaps I will add more when I can...
